the largest of the Aetolian tribes.
- Demosthenes agrees, reflecting that once
the Aetolians are added to the Athenian alliance, he could march
to
Cytinium
in Doris, then down through
Phocis,
and attack
Boeotia
from the north.
- Demosthenes' force of thirty Athenian ships
is reinforced by the addition of levies from
Acarnania,
Zacynthus,
Cephallenia
and
Corcyra.
- He establishes his base at
Oeneon
in West Locris and sets out upon the invasion of
Aetolia.
