The Nike of Paionios
Above is a Roman copy of the head of
Nike which is now in the Palazzo Venezia in
Rome. In the images on the right you can see
the strut under Nike's left foot, which would have been
invisible from the ground. In the images on the left, you can see
the head of the eagle of Zeus and the holes for attaching
something (the rest of the eagle?)
