Title: The Presence of a Tyrant at Pan-Hellenic Sites: the Dedications of Cypselus and the Cypselids at Delphi and Olympia

Introduction
Cypselus's dedications show the power and wealth which were typical of a tyrant; they were described by Herodotus and Pausanias, and they also show the importance of Delphi and Olympia as sites generally in this period and how they were influential in the social and political life of the time.
(This is a rough idea of what will be discussed in the introduction.)
